Aftercare Instructions
1. If you have the saniderm bandage, leave your bandage on for 24-72 hours before removing. It is normal for blood and ink to accumulate underneath the bandage! This will wash off once you remove the bandage and clean the tattoo for the first time.
2. With freshly washed clean hands, gently wash the tattoo with cold/medium temperature water and antibacterial unscented soap (such as Dial Gold). Once you have gently cleaned your tattoo, pat it dry completely with a paper towel. Do not use a regular towel, due to the bacteria they may contain.
3. Apply an unscented white lotion (such as Lubriderm or Aveeno) once the tattoo becomes dry and scaley that has not been previously used. Be sure to keep this bottle in a clean space, and even rinse the bottle off before using! Apply only enough to gently moisturize the tattoo, do not oversaturate it. Do NOT use products such as Vaseline, A&D Ointment, or Neosporin. This may damage the tattoo during the healing process and increase risk of infection. Do NOT use scented lotions during the healing process, this may irritate your tattoo during the healing process.
4. For the first two weeks, do not: wear tight clothing that may cause friction/rubbing of the tattoo, go swimming/take a bath/use a hot tub/soak the tattoo, expose to direct sunlight, use tanning beds/tanning lotions/tanning sprays, or gym or activities that may cause excessive sweating.
5. Continue this process for 2-4 weeks until the tattoo is fully healed. Do NOT pick, peel, scratch, or remove any scabbing/hard layers. Allow these scabs/layers to naturally heal over the duration of the process. Picking/scratching at the tattoo will damage the tattoo and affect the color/saturation and cause scarring.
